Bitch Slap Gold

Dictionary.com defines noise as sound, especially of a loud, harsh, or confused kind. Noise of any kind can be distracting and potentially dangerous to the surrounding area. It can affect residents of Clemson House physically, mentally, educationally, and even socially. It may seem that a simple little piece of technology such as a speaker can cause such a disruption in one’s life but it is not only possible but it happens every day here in our Clemson home.
Physically, loud music can cause a person pain. Loud music can cause ear aches, headaches, and throat pain. How? Obviously the higher the decibels of the noise the more it can affect the ear that accepts the noise. The excessive noise can cause permanent deafness and even the bursting of the eardrums. As for headaches, the ears transfer the noise to the brain where it is translated into information. Loud and excessive music can cause headaches by overloading the brain with too much information at one time. Finally, sore throats can occur when residents need to yell over loud music to communicate.
Mentally, residents can suffer from stress-related issues caused indirectly by the loud noise. Loud noise can be distracting and take focus away from homework or other tasks. This may cause a student to fall behind which would lead to increased stress levels. Stress can cause symptoms like headaches, excessive eating, and loss of hair. No student wants this to happen and would be very upset if symptoms like these came into play in their life. These symptoms would cause distress and unhappy students. Clemson University is certainly not a place to have unhappy students.
Clemson University is a place where happy, intelligent students work hard to become strong members of society. Loud noise can disrupt these wonderful students from their work. It becomes very difficult to focus on studies while loud music is playing. Loud music disrupts thoughts. These same thoughts may lead to a new technological invention or a life-saving medical insight. The education available to Clemson students is superior but requires a lot of studying that needs quiet, especially in Clemson House, where the best tigers live.
Loud music is such an unbearable distraction that it can even disrupt the social lives of residents of Clemson House. Students need the atmosphere that encourages making and maintaining friendships. Everyone knows the beginning of a friendship can be as simple as exchanging a few words. A nice, “hi, what’s your name?” could be the spark that starts a life-long friendship. However, if the two innocent residents of Clemson House are unable to hear each other and cannot communicate, then it would be impossible to form a new friendship. All Clemson House residents would become isolated, lonely, and miserable at the hands of loud music.
In our lovely dormitory here at Clemson University, our goal is to keep all residents safe, successful and happy. Loud music keeps us from reaching these goals and music be kept at bay. The evil of high decibels must be defeated so that our Clemson House residents can grow to reach their full potential as Clemson Tigers.
